In particular, the protection of confidential member information is of paramount importance to the FSESO.

Individual members may access their own information in their private account in the Online Services area of the web site. Each member is required to authenticate their identity to access their private account. No other individuals, other than specifically designated the FSESO staff, are entitled to gain access to this information.

Through this website, the FSESO only obtains specific personal information from you, such as your name, phone number or email address, if you supply such information (by, for example, sending us an email, submitting an inquiry, or providing such information in a secure portion of the site).

We will not trade, sell or rent your personal information. The FSESO takes precautions — including administrative, technical, and physical measures — to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The Firearm Safety Education Service of Ontario’s Social Media Terms of Use

The Firearm Safety Education Service of Ontario (FSESO) is the sole provider of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearm Safety Course in Ontario.

The FSESO uses Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to communicate with stakeholders and share information about the FSESO that may be of interest to instructors, students, and/or the public.

The following ‘Terms of Use’ apply when engaging with any of the FSESO social media channels. By doing so, users acknowledge and agree to these terms of use:

  • The FSESO will allow comments and other content from users to appear on its social media channels, unless the FSESO determines in its sole discretion that the comments or content posted by users:
    • Are or may be racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, libelous, insulting or threatening;
    • Aggressive, coarse, violent, obscene or pornographic;
    • Offensive, abusive, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate;
    • Political;
    • Irrelevant to the post it is made under
    • Constitutes spam
    • Advertise, promote or solicit business
    • Provide personal information or information that may identify a third party
    • Discuss complaints
    • Make false or unsubstantiated allegations
    • Discuss an ongoing investigation
    • Abuse or infringe any intellectual property right
    • Written in a language other than English or French.
  • The FSESO reserves the right at any time to remove comments or content, in whole or in part, which FSESO determines, in its sole discretion, does not comply with these Terms of Use.
  • Comments or posts by users on the FSESO social media channels do not reflect the opinions and position of FSESO
  • With a view to protecting the privacy of our members, staff, as well as the privacy of their clients or students, the FSESO will remove any form of content containing an individual’s personal information.
  • The FSESO does not verify or confirm the accuracy of user comments or any aspect of posted content. The FSESO is not responsible for the content of any document referred to or linked, and that content should not be viewed as an endorsement by the FSESO.
  • Violation of any element of these Terms of Use can lead to restrictions regarding use of FSESO social media channels, including without limitation blocking a user from posting to the FSESO’s social media channels.
