Introduction
Thank you for for your interest in my instructor profile. I have been delivering Non-Restricted and Restricted Professional Firearms Training for more than 30 years. Additionally I deliver the Ontario Hunter Education Program. I have worked in the field of safety and health in various capacities my entire adult life. You can say I am a lifetime safety professional. Instructing the general public on matters related to safe firearms handling, transportation and storage as well as hunter safety is perfectly aligned with who I am.
About Me
I am a professional adult educator, and have been training safety to adults for 34 years and counting. I take great pride in teaching classes and feel that it is critical that the correct information is delivered in the most professional and efficient manner possible. I am an IPSC Shooter and love hunting, especially over my German short Hair Pointer (GSP). I am an avid SCUBA diver, and do most of my diving with my daughter, Zoe. Over the past 32 years, I have served as a professional workplace health and safety adviser to organizations across Canada. I am a commercial Drone pilot, and a licensed fixed wing pilot with the following ratings: single and multi-engine aircraft, night rating, VFR and IFR. Additionally, I volunteer technical expertise to to hockey community, ensuring players stay safe on and off the ice.
About My Courses
My students tell me they really enjoy the pace of my class and the manner and method of the delivery of information. They say they like the way I use common terms and simple language to describe information that is, at times, challenging. A significant amount of time is spent handling firearms using A.C.T.S. AND P.R.O.V.E. methodology. I encourage questions and active participation. I make sure that each participant gets the individual attention necessary to be a competent, knowledgeable firearms owner. At the conclusion of the class, each participant will have demonstrated sound knowledge and abilities, and will be prepared for the written and practical tests.
