The Canadian Firearm Safety Programs began in Canada in 1994. We pride ourselves in presenting the programs as mandated and in the best possible manner. Thousands of students from all walks-of-life ranging from 12 to 80 years of age have successfully reached their goals in our classes. Lyle and Eric are both outdoor enthusiast and passionate about the natural world thus it naturally fell in line to pursue the values and rewards of hunting. In 1978 Lyle was appointment by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to the Ontario Hunter Education Program as a certified instructor. With many years of instructor experience the role expanded to Provincial Trainer and an appointment to the MNRF Ontario Hunter Education Advisory Committee. With a 30+ year career with the OPP that included duties as a firearms instructor and armourer to law enforcement agencies, it fell in line to get involved with the Canadian Firearms Safety Program from the beginning. Over the past 26 years it has been a rewarding privilege to have trained thousands of new hunters, sport shooters, collectors and CFP instructors and share in their successes. With Eric now on the instructor team we can continue to benefit those seeking the rewards of hunting and the enjoyment of safe, responsible firearm ownership and use.

Course training is conducted by certified instructors Eric and Lyle Smith. Classes are scheduled for specific dates and locations and offered as weekday evening sessions and / or weekend sessions. Class sizes are limited to provide individual attention. CANADIAN FIREARM SAFETY COURSE (CFSC) is offered as Stand Alone and also as Back-to-Back training. The CFSC is also part of the ONE STOP PROGRAM as noted below CANADIAN RESTRICTED FIREARM SAFETY COURSE (CRFSC) is offered as Stand Alone and also as Back-to-Back training. BACK-TO-BACK is the CFSC (non-restricted) and CRFSC (restricted) in a combined training format. Both courses must be taken with 30 days and offers a reduced cost. Students are mandated to complete the CFSC before the CRFSC training can commence. ONE STOP PROGRAM training is for those wishing to hunt with a gun, bow or falconry. One Stop includes the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Ontario Hunter Education Program in a combined training format. ONTARIO HUNTER EDUCATION PROGRAM is offered as Stand Alone for those wishing to hunt with a bow or falconry only.
