Introduction
Thank you for the interest in the courses that I offer.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to visit my website, call, email, or as a last resort, text me.
I will provide detailed information by email, but only limited information by text.
About Me
I am a lifelong shooter, hunter and fisherman with a passion for teaching, science, wildlife, shooting sports and the outdoors. I got my start on this journey as boy on our family farm shooting air guns, rifles, shotguns and archery, and fishing at our family cottage on Long Point in Lake Erie. I am an active and passionate wild turkey, deer, moose and bear hunter as well as small game and waterfowl. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to fish and hunt game across this country as well as in the US. I have been an active and successful competitor in national and international archery competitions, taught an archery program through the Humber College Continuing Education Program, operated my own archery shop and range for a number of years and served as a staff shooter for a number of bow manufacturers and distributors. I shoot trap, sporting clays, pistol, and long range rifle as a recreational shooter, and have had a particular interest in reloading for all of my shooting activities for over 35 years. I am an advocate for the shooting sports, wildlife and conservation activities and have actively served as a board member for local, provincial and national organizations.
In the mid 1980's, I was in one of the first groups of instructors to be certified as an instructor in the Ontario Bow Hunter Education Program.
I have been teaching and presenting for many years in various capacities, in business, privately and in college programs. I enjoy sharing my experiences, technical expertise and passion for shooting, hunting, preparation and cooking (and eating) of wild game and fish, as well as introducing people to the joys that these activities have provided to me and my family. I am thankful for this lifestyle and the life long friends that I enjoy it with.
About My Courses
I offer the CFSC and CRFSC as a One Stop or as Stand Alone courses and the Ontario Hunter Education Program either as a Stand Alone or in a One Stop Course with the CFSC. I am currently teaching courses near the town of Thorndale, a few kilometers northeast of London. In some cases if you have a group of friends or family that would like the course presented in your own suitable venue I am willing to travel to make that happen provided that travel times are reasonable, the class size make the trip viable, and I do not have courses or other commitments scheduled. The demand for courses currently makes this difficult, as I am teaching almost every weekend, but it is possible to advance book an exclusive course at my venue even mid week provided that minimum class sizes are met.
I welcome youth to the class and encourage mentors of youth to attend the course with the student, provided that we do not exceed classroom capacity.
