About Me

Ross A. Johnston lives with his family in rural Thunder Bay and black lab Lupin. He retired in 2016 after working 34 years with the Ministry of Natural Resources where he started as a Forestry Technician and worked his way up to Senior Fish and Wildlife Technician and finally as Conservation Officer for many years. He is an avid archery moose and deer hunter. Ross spent his career promoting MNR’s stewardship and enforcement mandate by preparing and delivering presentations to various client groups at special functions (moose hunter seminars, displays in public forums, hunter education classes and primary, secondary and post-secondary school groups). He regularly volunteers at Kamview Nordic Centre by providing skiing and snowshoeing instruction to all age groups. He is also involved in developing & delivering black bear safety and awareness training to government, First Nations, industry & post-secondary education institutions.
