About FSESO

Firearms Safety Education Service of OntarioThe FSESO was founded in 1993 by firearms enthusiasts who believed that the best people to offer training to firearm owners were people who loved the sport and wanted it to prosper.

As a self-funded organization, we rely on the sale of tests to cover all of our operating expenses and to help fund special projects such as the development of videos and training aids for instructors.

Each province has its own delivery method for Canadian Firearms Safety Courses. In Ontario, each instructor/examiner delivers the course directly to the public. They set their own course dates, prices (to prescribed maximums), and complete most of their own administration.

Instructors who wish to have their names made available to the general public are listed in this website under “Instructors”. This list also shows which additional courses each instructor is certified to teach, including the Ontario Hunter Education Course and exam.

A list of Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQ’s) is also included to answer most general questions you may have about obtaining a Firearms Licence, whether it be for Non-Restricted Firearms, or Restricted Firearms.

Should you require any further clarification on firearms safety training, simply click “Contact Us”, and we will be happy to assist you.
